What is the Ellara One?
A premium LED light therapy mask for at-home use. 360 medical-grade LEDs across five wavelengths (415, 590, 630, 850, 1072 nm), six treatment modes, integrated eye shield, and a wired controller that sits in your pocket. Designed for face-specific dosing in 10-minute sessions.
What's in the box?

Is it FDA Cleared?
Yes. The Ellara One is FDA Cleared as a Class II medical device for acne and wrinkles.
Where is it made?
Designed in the U.S., manufactured to our spec at an ISO-13485-certified facility we audit every quarter. We do final QC on every unit before it ships.
How is it different from a $79 mask?
Output, consistency, and fit. Cheaper masks often use under-powered LEDs whose actual irradiance is far below what published studies tested. Ellara uses 360 medical-grade chips, with QC on every unit. The hardware difference is what determines whether the published results are reproducible at home.
How is it different from a $1,500 clinical panel?
Form factor and price. Clinical panels are tethered, heavy, often used in-office. Ellara One delivers comparable face-specific output in a wearable device priced for home use.

Usage
How long is a session?
10 minutes. The controller starts a built-in timer and the mask shuts off automatically.
How often should I use it?
Three to five sessions per week is the sweet spot for most users. Daily is fine if you prefer; consistency matters more than intensity.
What are the modes?
Six preset modes (M1–M6): M1 Repairing Mode (630 nm — red), M2 Rejuvenation Mode (590 + 630 nm), M3 Anti-Aging Mode (630 + 850/1072 nm), M4 Morning Skincare (590 + 630 + 850/1072 nm), M5 Anti-Acne Mode (415 nm — blue), and M6 Bedtime Skincare (590 + 630 + 850/1072 nm).
Do I use it on bare skin or over products?
Bare, freshly cleansed skin. Light works best when there's nothing between it and your face. Apply your serums and moisturizer after the session.
Can I read or scroll during a session?
Yes. The wired controller sits in your pocket and the eye shield is integrated — most users use the 10 minutes to read, listen to a podcast, or simply rest.
Can I use it with my serums and retinol?
Yes. Cleanse → mask → serums → moisturizer. Many users notice that actives absorb better immediately after a session. If you're using a topical photosensitizer or just had an in-office procedure, check with your dermatologist first.
How do I clean the mask?
Wipe the inside with a soft cloth lightly dampened with alcohol-free cleanser or a 70%-IPA wipe. Don't submerge it. Don't use abrasives. Let it air-dry before storing.
How long does the battery last?
Roughly 30 sessions per full charge. Charging takes about 2 hours over USB-C.
Can I travel with it?
Yes. The controller fits in a standard toiletry bag, the mask packs flat in the included pouch, and USB-C is universal.
Results
How long until I see results?
Many users notice tone and calmness changes inside 2–3 weeks. Structural changes — fine lines, firmness, persistent acne — generally show in weeks 6–12 with consistent three-to-five-times-a-week sessions.
Does it actually work?
Photobiomodulation has decades of peer-reviewed evidence for specific wavelengths and conditions — particularly red light for collagen and blue light for inflammatory acne. Individual results vary; consistency and proper use matter.
What if I don't see results?
You have 30 days from delivery to send it back for a full refund — no questions, free both ways. Most concerns we hear at the 30-day mark turn out to be inconsistency. We'll always offer to help you adjust the protocol before processing the return, but only if you'd like.
Will it help with my specific concern?
Most likely, if your concern is one of: dullness, uneven tone, mild-to-moderate acne, fine lines, redness, or general "I want my skin to look like itself again." LED is not a substitute for medical care for severe acne, melasma, or active conditions — those need a dermatologist.
Can I use it long-term?
Yes — the device is designed for indefinite use. Many users settle into a three-to-four-times-a-week maintenance rhythm after their first 12 weeks.
Safety
Is LED light therapy safe?
For the wavelengths used in the Ellara One, yes. LED is non-thermal and non-UV — it doesn't damage skin the way the sun or lasers can. The device is designed with integrated eye protection and an automatic shutoff timer.
Is it safe for darker skin tones?
Yes. The Ellara One is designed for all Fitzpatrick types I–VI. Unlike lasers, LED at these wavelengths and irradiance levels does not selectively heat melanin.
Is it safe during pregnancy?
The published safety record for non-thermal LED is reassuring, but we recommend checking with your OB/GYN before starting any device-based skincare during pregnancy.
Are there conditions where I shouldn't use it?
Don't use it if you have a known photosensitivity disorder (e.g., porphyria, lupus with photosensitivity), are taking medications that increase photosensitivity (some antibiotics, isotretinoin), have active skin cancer, or have an implanted electronic device on the face. When in doubt, ask your dermatologist.
Why is eye protection necessary?
Bright LED light is uncomfortable to look at and can cause temporary visual fatigue. The Ellara One's integrated soft-fabric shield blocks direct exposure to the eyes. Keep your eyes closed during sessions even with the shield on.
Can I use it after a procedure (peels, microneedling, fillers, etc.)?
Many providers recommend LED after mild procedures to support healing. For active inflammation, recent injectables, or post-laser, follow your provider's specific timeline.

How long does it take?
1–2 business days to process, 3–6 business days in transit within the contiguous U.S.
Do you ship internationally?
At launch, we ship within the United States only. International is on the roadmap.
Do I get a tracking number?
Yes — sent by email the moment your order ships, plus a follow-up if there's a delivery update.
What if my package is lost or marked delivered but missing?
Email hello@ellaratherapy.com. If 48 hours pass after a "delivered" scan with nothing in hand, we'll open a carrier trace and ship a replacement at our expense if it doesn't surface.
Can I change my address after ordering?
If your order hasn't shipped yet, yes — write to us within 30 minutes of placing it. Once it's in carrier hands we can't change the address; you can have the package forwarded or returned to sender.
What if it arrives damaged?
Email us within 7 days with photos of the box and device. We'll ship a free replacement immediately and arrange free pickup of the original.
Returns
What's the return policy?
30 days from delivery. Full refund. Free return shipping both ways. No restocking fee. Full details on the Returns Policy.
How do I start a return?
Email hello@ellaratherapy.com with subject "Return — [Order #]." We'll send a prepaid label within one business day.
Do I have to give a reason?
No. We're happy to hear it (it helps us improve), but it's optional.
Do I need the original box?
Preferred but not required. Any sturdy box that protects the device in transit is fine.
When does the refund hit my account?
We process refunds within 1–2 business days of receiving the device. Your bank typically posts it within 3–5 business days after that.
What if I bought it as a gift?
The original purchaser receives the refund to their original payment method. We can issue store credit to the gift recipient instead, on request, with the original purchaser's confirmation.
Warranty
What does the warranty cover?
1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of delivery. Repair or replacement at our cost, our option. Full details on the Support & Warranty page.
What's not covered?
Damage from drops, water exposure, unauthorized modifications, normal cosmetic wear, and use outside the user manual.
How do I file a claim?
Email hello@ellaratherapy.com with your order number, a description, and a short video or photo of the issue. We'll respond within one business day with next steps.
Is the warranty transferable?
The 1-year warranty applies to the original purchaser only.
What about after the first year?
We offer paid repairs at cost (parts + labor) for as long as parts are available. Email us for a quote.

Do I need an account to order?
No — guest checkout works. You can opt to create an account during checkout if you'd like to track future orders or returns more easily.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal.
